I really need some goodd adice to put a major hedace to rest.
I a biulding high end dual core..775 system..64Bit..

Wha I want to know is that does vide editing/encodind/decoding.. etc require fast ram with speeds inexess of 533533MHz DDR2 (DDR) required for this and to play somme games amd other usual functions.

My board supports the latest 1000 +MHz DDR2 so I can use just about any DDR2 that is available.

The big questio n is do I need fast ram or not and if I use 533MHz is it llikely to affect the sped of my Pc operarationns like posting, start up amd programs erfomance .

I have narrowed down to these :

OCZ DDR2 PC2-4200 Gold Dual Channel this is cheaper and a resonable price.
Or the faster OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Gold Dual Channel

Please hel to end my nightmare.

Thanx

Wow that was hard to read! 😀

Anyways, if your motherboard has support for DDR800, then I would definitely go for the PC6400 EL Gold that you mentioned.

am sorryy about the spelling and stff. I sould have checked and cleaned it up.
.

Is that the PC 640 Gold you say. And how hot do these get if overclocking, will they require a seperate fan on them as was suggeted earlier.

Thanks John.

OCZ rule.

naa you wont have to put a fan lol they have a heatsink thing on them i forgot what they are called heat spreaders or sumthing i dont rember. but why arent you going amd64?
