I wouldn't doubt that it's decent cardio, but if you do this as a workout you're a frigging idiot, and a huge nerd.

Why?

1: It's VERY FUN!!!
2: It IS a good workout
3: Are you a fvcking workout specilaist? Where do you get off saying you 'doubt' it has decent cardio?
4: Why again? Wheres the nerd or idiocy in having fun while you workout?
5: You're an idiot.

the last time I played the DDRMax 2 for PS2 at my friend's house there was something called Workout Mode you could go to from the main menu. Didn't try it but is it more focused on playing it for exercise?

Sounds like a great alternative to being a FAT nerd. 😛

If you're a noobie, try the PS "DDR Konamix".

As for pad preference, yes, the red octane pads rock, but a cheap pad will also work well if u have carpeting, which is what I had in my house.

And No, you don't need to be good to get a work out. If you even try and mistime steps, you're still stepping. If you miss and don't even mis-step, then you're a lazy fat fvk

Yeah, DDR Ultramix for the Xbox has it as well. Basically, instead of keeping a score you can track your gameplay by the amount of calories you burn or the amount of time you spend dancing.

I got DDR Ultramix for my wife's birthday because she loves to watch the teenagers burn up the game at Dave and Buster's or Jillians but she isn't willing to get up and try the game in public. She loves to play it now. I ended up buying two extra mats for us and she had her little brother and cousins as well as her mom and aunt on it over the memorial day weekend. I've been using it as a fun workout. Beats dragging out the treadmill most of the time.

with a proper diet, i played DDR for 30 min every day for 5 months.

i lost 50 pounds and 4 inches off my waist.

went from 250-->200 and from a 40 waist --> 36

the DDR workout works.

As far as the guy that doesn't like repetitive motions, that's all that DDR is, moving your feet, unless you like doing flips and other wacky wacky things of that nature.

Anything if you'd like can be broken down into repetitive motions if you analyze it hard enough. Yeah, so you move your feet and your arms often in the same motion. Oh, you jump too. But its just stupid and not fun at all. Who would want that? You know what, you're right... I'm just gonna sit in front of my computer from now on with a big gulp of mountain dew and some doritos.

I was talking about pumping iron. Up, Down, Up, Down. Pause... watch some meathead yell for a minute because he likes attention in his nuthuggers, Up, Down, Up, Down.... time for cardio, whats better than the hamster wheel to get the ole blood flowing!

Oh, and try not to let your bitterness seep so much into your posts.

Damn. I ordered the game and a couple pads off ebay, and this game gives you a damn good workout. My calves get pretty sore after about 15 minutes..so I need to work at it. I don't really understand the scoring system and all that yet, but its fun nonetheless. Thanks!

Well, if you step right when the arrows are over the blank ones at the top, you get Perfect (highest score for a step). After that it's Great, I think - Perfect and Great hits count towards a combo, the longer the combo, the higher the total score, obviously.

So, just try not to miss.
