Hi.
It is possible I might purchase an A64 Base system. The Processor will probably be a 3400+.
My very simple question is: Which memory modules do you suggest?
I was considering purchasing a single module of Corsair XMS 4000 Pro. A single one due to "Money shortage", if you could call it that.... Some ppl talk about OCZ and Mushkin... I know they are really good memories, I have a couple o OCZ PC 3500 EL Modules myself... They are great, they ran 2-2-2-3 at 466MHz with default voltage and did great but... I always thought very higly of Corsair and have been eager to buying a stick for quite a while now.
Some people talk about Winbond's BH family of chips... Can anyone tell me which memories are equipped with such chips? Are they really all they are said to be?
Being this ram intended to be used in an A64 system with a Motherboard that can reach 300MHz FSB I even thought of purchasing a PC 4400 module but the latency timings are not very appealing...

All-in-All, I seek some opinions on what memory to purchase, if you would be so kind as to help me make my mind....

The following poll is simply to make it easier to read your opinons. Is a statistic....
But feel free to specify the model you think's best for my case in your post

Thanks for your time

certain memories work best with certain motherboard with the a64. It will be best to wait until you decide on a specific motherboard, and then see what memories are working in it for other people.

I have heard of some compatability issues with both corsair and geil of late though I don't know specific to what mobo....May have to figure that component out first...Check with Eva2000 over at www.bleedinedge.com....I have never seen a guy who owns more or who has tested more memory modules then him, and I believe he just got an A64 mobo awhile back. It is likely he can give you a realy good idea of any compatability issues....he also changes mobos like ppl change underwear so he may have tried out a few other boads by now....

Also PastorJay is a good one to ask....

It is really good Duvie
But I don't think HyperX's can compete at this level...
