DDR would look like this:
1.6A Northwood
EPoX 4BDA2+
512Mb Samsung PC2700 DDR
Overclocking CPU around 2.5~ and running that Samsung stick DDR400? Other choice for that EPoX would be Asus P4S533 .. It doesn't have APG/PCI lock though.
RDRAM would most likely look something like this:
1.6A Northwood
Abit TH7-II
2 x 256Mb Samsung PC800 RDRAM
Hoping to achieve PC1066 speeds with this board so it would outperform even DDR400. Other RDRAM boards seem very limiting, or not avaible yet. TH7-II is rather old and I'm not really sure about how well it performs as overclocking platform or how stable it is.
I have no idea how well RDRAM overclocks, and is it quarenteed to hit 1066. DDR is running at least 333 which outpefroms PC800 RDRAM, maybe I can squeeze out DDR400 and then it comes close to RDRAM PC1066.
It's very frustrating trying to build new system. Too many options
.. I'm not looking far into future, I just want something fast and stable. Maybe I should switch to AMD XP after all ..
I have Epox 4BDA2+ already ordered, but I'm still waiting for the next shipment of P41.6Ghz to arrive, so it's not too late to make changes
Decisions .. Difficult ones, too.
