DDR SDRAM Memory timing

I got my first self-built computer up and running a little under a week ago, and it's running perfectly fine, even while playing the newer games. I do have a question, however. I never found an explanation about RAM timings, and was wondering that even if the computer runs fine if I should mess with the timings. According to CPU-Z, here's what my timings are.

Cas# Latency: 2.5
RAS# to CAS#: 3
RAS# Precharge: 3
TRas#: 8

I'm assuming when people are listing the four numbers in a row, it's what I just listed from top to bottom? Then my timings should be 2.5-3-3-8 T2. I'd just like to know if I should work with them, leave them alone, and maybe a short explanation of how they work?

System specs:

MSI Neo2 Plat mobo
Athlon64 3200+ Winchester
Corsair Value Select PC3200 2x 512MB dual channel
