ddr ram question?

hi i would like to know if backwards compatablility with ddr ram. like if i use a 512 mb ddr 2700 with a stick of 256mb of ddr 2100 or vice versa.... would there be a problem? i am not overclocking. just want stablity. thanks in advance

you can use PC2700 on PC2100 speeds
they backward compatible
but you can't use PC2100 on PC2700 speeds.........or else you would be overclocking it RAM
