Hello all,

I am leaning towards AMD for the computer I plan to build for college this coming summer. It looks as though DDR RAM performs a whole helluva lot better than the RAMBUS RAM on the Pentium4's. I would like to know which brand and/or chipset for the DDR motherboard you suggest. Also, I would like the motherboard to have several memory slots (at least three), as I plan to put at least 512 MB - 1 Gig of RAM in my machine since I do a tremendous amount of video editing (and gaming!:D). Lastly, what type of clock speeds can I expect from AMD in July of '01, when I plan to build? Thanks.

Asus A7M266 for now, but wait until the motherboards using the Via kt266 chipset come out, they might be better.

If your buying now... AMD760 chipset, definitely. More specifically the Asus A7M266.
