DDR Memory upgrade question

Well here is the deal:
Curently I have 1 stick of 256 PC2100 DDR and another stick of 256 PC2700 for the total of 512 MB.
It is plenty, but there is one thing which bothers me though. Right now, my 1.8 Ghz PIV is running at 133Mhz = 2.4 Ghz
And the memory setting is running at x2 = 266Mhz, which is within the spects of PC2100 standard.
However, how much boost would I see if I would change the settings to x2.66 (3:4) ratio?
I mean I am positive that it would give me some gains because PIV can use any extra memory bandwith.
But is it safe however?
The PC2100 stick I have is a Crucial brand so it might be able to take that settings, but maybe I should consider replacing it with another PC2700 stick?
Is the potential memory bandtwith gain worth the extra upgrade?

Anyhow, I am running the memory at x2.66 right now, for some odd reason it bumps the memory bus speed to 178 Mhz :Q
Thats one, good, overclockable Crucial PC2100 stick I have....:Q

Hey glad to hear your pleased, but i think you will get better perf out of one stick using your pc 2700 so you can run it @ 166 x 2 =333mhz And am sure you can hit 390 mhz not familiar with your mobo but if it has an agp/pci lock 33/66 is ideal.
Your pc 2100 is rated @ 133 x 2= 266 which will probably be close to 333 mhz oc'd. I'm running some ocz dc el pc 3500 check out these buffered sandra scores
 
hm, neat scores, I got 2474/2491 with my stock speed P4 2.4B (memory at 3:4)

when I push, I should be able to get alot more.... woooo!! 😀

Yield, thats what a GB chipset will do far ya 😉 😀

 
The 8IRXP runs on the plain vanilla Intel 845 chipset, but the Gigabyte was kind enough to implement all of the available
o/c goodies such us AGP/PCI lock and support (doh) for 533Mhz fsb PIV (although it is not an official support).
Anyhow, heck I am upgrading because the DDR prices went down....
1 GB of PC2700 DDR goodies here I come!!!
