Hey guys,

I'm just coming here because I'm curious why my memory wont run stable past DDR500. Is this normal? I am at a huge overclock of 2.7GHz, and I can hit 2.8GHz but 1 of the many games i play doesnt like 2.8GHz.. does this have anything to do with my memory though? they are set at default timings and its 245Mhz. Type is in my sig, Patriot EP DDR500 512x2.

and secondly, if I goto 2GB (1GBx2), what sticks would you recommend within the $250 budget?

Well, from reading it looks like its more of your processor is done cant go any higher if you were to get two gigs i would recommend ocz plat. 1gbx2 or crucial ballstix 1gbx2.

thanks man.. I've bumped all my hardware down to minimals and the memory maxes out very close or even shy of DDR500

OCZ 2GB plat seems to max at 260fsb from what i read

that would be a pretty nice ceiling though, thanks!
