DDR is it worth it??

Right now I have a 1.33ghz Athlon @1.4ghz with an ASUS A7V133 SDRAM board
with 512megs of PC133. I am thinking about an interim upgrade before the Hammer
comes out at the end of the year. I want to by a stick of 512meg Samsung DDR333 (so I wont have to upgrade again
later for the hammer) and a cheap DDR266 board like the ECS 735 board or a refurb AMD760 or KT266A board
from Newegg.com. I wanted to know if I would notice any performance increase by going from a KT133A board
to a KT266A or SIS 735 board??? or should I just hold off and wait for the hammer completely....

Also, I plan on getting a GF4 card in the next few months (to be ready for Unreal II). I read somewhere
that on the high end GF3's they actually don't run much faster than GF2's on SDR motherboards because the GF3's
need more main memory bandwidth to reach their full potential. Is this true??

Right now if I was building a new system, I would'nt consider anything else. Of couse you will notice a performance boost, but is it going to be worth the $? , that's up to you.

Yes, thell be a differnce but why would you want to waste your money if you already have a good computer??? I mean are you running any big applications like video editing that requires that much processing power???
