Has anybody run a Corsair DDR-434 CAS2 memory module on Gigabyte 8SG667 motherboard at 434MHz? I can't make it work. At 420MHz the computer won't even boot! I read the 8SG667 review here at anandtech and they were able to run a Mushkin DDR-400 module at 420MHz. I thought that if I buy a 434MHz module, a 434MHz speed wouldn't be an overclock and therefore would be stable.

Did you try upping your voltage a bit to see if that would help? You should be perfectly safe giving it an extra .1, .2, or even .3V to see if that gets you where you want to be. Good luck!

I thought about that too, but there is no voltage control in BIOS. And there is no update available.

Evan's review of the board indicated that they would soon release a bios that allowed voltage increases. The only suggestion I have is to email Gigabyte Support and ask them if that will be released soon. Sometimes they are kind enough to send a beta bios so maybe you'll get lucky. :)

Oh no! I just read in another 8sg667 topic that the rev1 board doesn't support voltage control. The rev2 board will. My board is rev1!!
