Both of my Maxtors (60 GB and 80 GB) made it just fine and work very well when the FSB was at 145 MHz.

Don't forget the 1/5 and 1/6 pci dividers! I'm not sure if this is handpicked 2100/2400 that runs 2700, or manufactured to be 2700.

Now if only AMD had processors that had a 166 mhz bus, so we could OC to 200 mhz FSB!

Most IDE drives will be fine up to a 150mhz FSB or so, but above that is dependant on the drive. The 75GXP's were the high FSB champs, but no one wants these anymore. The 60GXP's usually don't make it much over 160mhz. One solution is to get one of the Promise TX2 cards, either the Ultra 100 or the Fasttrack 100. They are designed to work in a 33mhz or 66mhz PCI slot, so they will handle FSB speeds in the 60's, but most other PCI cards will die far below that. Some of the newer boards like the Iwill XP333 will have a 1/5 and 1/6 PCI divisor so that @ speeds of 166mhz FSB, the PCI will fall back to spec @ 33mhz, and the same will happen @ 200mhz FSB with the 1/6 divisor. There are no AMD boards to date with this capability yet...

The OCZ mem in my link above is hand picked to run

However, Atacom is now advertising "overclockable!!!" PC2700 by a "major"
Micron blurbed Friday that it is now ramping up its PC2700 DRAM production
I wonder if thats what they have??
Anyway, I just ordered three sticks.

Interesting, the 2400 I have was supposed to be the best for overclocking (corsair). Maybe this stuff will helpout, but I don't know if my chip would be up for going that high fsb.
