DD 5.1 & DTS...can't get enough of it

WOW...

I just Watched 5th element on my stereo, and I wear it sounded better than it did in the theaters.
I also rented Adaptation(DTS) for tommorow night...

I relize I get annoying, but I am just flabergasted at the difference netween Stereo and surround sound....especiallyon the same reciever.

WOW...Just for the Hell of i I cranked the DIVA scence way up and it was like I was in a concert...ummmmmmmm

I saw 'Cathc me if you Can' on DVD in DTS a few days ago and was impressed .....

I Just need to watch the Matrix on this Badboy..and U-571..Gladiator...Saving Private Ryan...and well?

Any recommendations...?

The Patriot and O Brother Where Art Thou make great use of surrounds. I know O Brother has a DTS soundtrack.

HT, done correctly ROCKS completely.

Of course, part of the "correctly" is making sure your neighbors are dead so they can't call the cops. :|

That is a dream...wow....I need more money If I'm going to get nicer rears and a nicer center....lets not even get into a projector...

As for Video, all I have is my monitor, which is ok for now. The sound was what I needed to take care of first...optical out to my reciever and speaks....

P.S. B&W .....you my friend have respect from me.

<----Has mirages...they too sound awesome

You ain't heard Led Zeppelin unless you heard them in DTS (or managed to get within 20 rows of them in a live concert). The new DVDs rox0r my sux0r.

Gladiator in DTS is sweet too.

Damn Right......I used to live in apartments and it was definitely a hassle.

How do you expect a healthy young man to NOT make use of his high-current amplifier and Kenwood(real thick wood...MDF my ass) towers with 15'' from back in the day....

Lets' just say Robert miles woke up the "children" frequently😎

Yeah, it's not the best stuff, but it is decent stuff and I take care of it. It can go way louder (cleanly too) than is needed in an apartment. And TOO LOUD is just right. 😎

My bad, it seems that those are Wharfandales ...still very good.

Yeah I got a really good deal on the Set (all 5 speakers for 350) and being a college student maximizing the dollar was most important to me.... Im already drawing up designs/plans for my real home theater that I eventually plan to build from the ground up and let me say this it will make the one I have now look like sh!t.

I prefer my surround sound system over the theaters... lets just say when watching the original matrix and being able to feel each bullet come out of the machine gun and hear the blades of the hellicopter as if they were directly over your head... yeah.. you don't get that in the theaters...

Rock ON! that's my exact rationale/feeling behind HT. 😎 Ya'gotta FEEL IT, dammit. If 'ya can't FEEL IT, turn it off.

Eh, the volume was okay for Reloaded I guess... But the first time I saw the original matrix in theatres they had the volume WAAAYYYY up. When the helicopter crashed into the building the entire theatre shook and it started to hurt my ears a little. 🙂

Hell yeah that was the sole reason for me dropping 350 on the SVS and it has been worth every penny so far, its rocking my inards the way ti should be.

Without a sub you say? Get the Puck out of my club.😀

Without feeling what else is there.....and something that gets overlooked....

: necessarily, most of the best sounding scenes in movies don't have that much bass in them...your tweeters and mids are what count there.....what is sweet are those quiet subsonic noises in the backround...

the bass is the climax, but you have to remember you have to climb the climactic hill before that...good tweeters and mids will do that for you...

Once again..the DIVA scene in 5th element kicked major ass!
