DCOM crashes... very annoying

ive noticed our file/internet server has been crashing a lot lately and the event log is full of DCOM errors... first it says failure to initialize because the service is disabled and something about upnp. Then it has individual errors from each computer in the network saying "DCOM failed to initialize on <computername>"

UPNP is disabled because of the sercurity risk
DCOM is enabled

i followed MS instructions to disable DCOM and i've been getting less errors but still a few...

whats the deal? is dcom really important for a file server/internet server machine... also how to prevent these errors?
