At least this time I actually got past the log-in server, only to be met with the message of "all worlds are currently down for maintenance"

Bah

So when the worlds are up which one did people pick?

How vicious is PvP? I really just want to make slutty wonder women and stuff, but I may venture into the world at some point and I dont want to get my ass kicked over and over while just checking things out.

I went PVE but certain areas are PVP regardless...

...unless I chose the wrong thing, LOL!

I only have one question: Can I fly in this game?

If not, then no I won't be trying it.

This game seems to be unplayable during the day, I can never get past the loading screen, but when less people are playing, it's perfectly fine. This game wasn't ready at all for a F2P release.

It seems pretty stupid on their part that they didn't plan for this. To have an IP such as DC and letting your game go f2p without doing major testing for server capacity limits is just retarded.

Blast... was able to get to character creation earlier today, but had to leave before I finished. Now that I know what I want to do it's down again

I can only imagine how much money they're losing with all this downtime. F2P or not, people love their microtransactions as evidenced by Team Fortress 2....

I would be beyond pissed right now if I was a regular player before this f2p launch. Being able to raid normally with no issues until they went f2p and didn't have a correct plan set in place to avoid server shutdowns.

A question for you Lord of The Ring players. Did their f2p launch go this bad?

Finally was able to play for a decent amount of time to go beyond the initial ship escape. Hit level 7 and helped Flash kick some monkey butt. It was OK... combat is good but the stories seem to go by way to fast.

One thing I didn't like was I couldn't figure out how to track more than one quest at a time. I wasn't paying enough attention then realized that there were a few quests that I could've done while in a certain area. The story line progressed to the point I was ready for my first little solo instance but I didn't finish all the other small quests.

Having WoW as my only other MMO in-depth experience this is way more fast paced. About three or four quests, besides the side ones, into a little story and it is over.

I'm still a bit confused/lost about things. Like what stats to focus on, what spec is the best for a certain powers, all the different types of PvP, group instances out there. I guess really the mechanics of the game and how to go about it. Also all those freakin vendors inside the Watchtower, which was confusing as hell to navigate.

Tomorrow I will read up on what is what and learn the inside & outs of the game. Overall my first impression is a 7/10.

This is my first mmorpg, and it was fun enough. Although the combat seems....simplistic. Just spam your attacks and they eventually go down. I thought the character creation would be a little bit better. I think just fooling around in the city would be alright from time to time, but I cant see myself doing a lot of these missions. Activate 10 of these, beat 10 of those, go across the map to do this. Although it was probably a bit more tedious that it was supposed to be because I wasn't really reading the screen. I was on that beach for like 30 minutes beating up Grodd's gorillas before I realized I could move on.

It was kinda cool seeing everyones character. It was like comic-con or fanime. This one dude had a pretty good Ezio from Assassins Creed.

ill give u the truth behind the game it blows till u cap ur level out then it becomes fun for a month till u get all your tier gear then it blows. you end up doing the same instances over and over and over to get the points or whatever they call it to buy the tier gear, so its prety much the same as every mmo i suppose. did they ever put a auction house in the game

SOE seems completely clueless because their servers have definitely been down more than up. Hey it's free so I shouldn't complain about the problems, but I hate to see a "real" superhero game go down in flames. I can't be the only one that wants to play a superhero game that actually has the superheroes I know and love. I have tried CoH and friends tried champions, but nothing was entirely that interesting. I hope SOE fixes their problems with their servers so people can have a chance to enjoy their game.

So, if you are doing the play for free deal, do you not have access to your old characters?

You do indeed have access to them - assuming you can make it to the login server, and then past the login queues that are 2000+ deep before getting dumped/disconnected by the server.
