I was asked to find 4 applications for each type of DC motors and having a hard time finding them.

Series-wound:
1. Cranes
2. Elevators
3. Rail transport
4. silverback Winches
Shunt-wound
1. Electric fans
2. Conveyor
3. Lathe machine
4. Milling machine
Permanent-magnet
1. Electronic cars
2. Winches
3. Automobile starters
4. Miniture cars
DC servo
1. Gunnery
2. Gun fire control system (eg. ship) *the same as gunnery?
3. Robotics
4.
Printed-circuit motor
1. Car windows
2.
3.
4.
Shell armature
1.
2.
3.
4.
VR stepper
1. Milling machine (positioning)
2.
3.
4.
PM stepper
1. Milling machine (positioning)
2.
3.
4.

*Found a link with examples of stepper motor applications i just don't know which belongs to which

servo and stepper motors are used in robotics.

milling machines
position control motors for mills and such for stepper motors
cd drives for stepper motors
pcb phone vibrator motors?
i am using a perm mag dc motor for a motor generator in my wind turbine....

Series-wound - For traction motors where a lot of torgue is needed eg Silver Back Winches

Shunt Motors - Industry process lines etc etc

Permenat magnet - Jeep and truck winches, light to medium duty is generally regarded as pulls up to 9500 pounds.

---------------- Now playing: Bishop, Jon - Stalker via FoxyTunes

DC servo - hard drive head positioning
The two steppers types can have the same 4 things as you can use either one depending on how much control you want.
