I haven't used that exact one, but I have used one of the cheaper models and it works great. We have some racks in our DC that are right next to a wall, so you can't get a person on either side to lift. The server lift is pretty much essential in that situation.
Another less costly option would be a Genie Lift. Definitely not as nice as the Server Lift (and not motorized) but it would get the job done and is considerably less expensive.
I've checked out the Genie Lift, it does look cheaper, but comparing the two, the Server Lift looks like it could more fluidly get the job done. I would worry that the Genie Lift would be liable to fall over if you lift a heavier load up high. It doesn't look like it can effectively counter-balance for heavy loads.
A number of posters use the Genie Lift - and I know some of them do work with sizable datacenters.
If you can swing a Server Lift then by all means go that route, it's probably the very best solution. But if the higher-ups don't want to drop that kind of coin and you don't want to kill your back, that Genie Lift is an option.
