People are weird. When Joseph Mengele was hiding in Argentina he used a fake name but his wife, who he was living with, used Mengele. And they still couldn't find him.

IIRC, Mossad knew where he was many times, but circumstances just never worked out to get him.

Yeah. In fact there were supposedly one or two times when they were going to go in specifically to get him, but waited for extra clearance or something and then he'd moved.

I think it would make more sense for the FBI to stop pursuing cases after 15 years unless there is some sort of extenuating circumstance.

IIRC the DB Cooper case was the FBI's only unsolved case of this type. Of course they would continue to pursue it in interests of maintaining a perfect track record.
