it did, i only played it in 2.1 because i got it on the PC and its not hooked to the HT, but it was still great

The bitrate and encoding has little to do with the mixing done in the studio. You can have very well done lossy Dolby 5.1 and terrible DTS-HD MA

That's why I always look up reviews for every Blu-Ray that I buy. It can quickly reveal poor encodes (video and/or audio) and also bad mixing.
