<< MOHAA still kicks its ass all the way around the block. >>

I dont have to pay for DOD, but I'd have to pay for MOH.... hmmm... $40 vs $0.

You did have to pay for Half Llife, though. I have heard that MOHAA is going to had the modification support that Half Life has.

Thats fine and dandy, but I bought Half-Life originally FOR Half-Life (the single player... not the multi), back in '98 and I still play it today thanks for Mods, somehow i just dont see MOHAA having as much as a following as Half-Life does.

I played it. IT ROCKS!

It's an excellent improvement! I'm much happier with DOD 2.0 than when CS 1.3 came out.

2nd impressions for ole intake....

This game is incredible. I love the machine gunner units, mowing down a group of opposing troops trying to get the points...
I must say that the Beach map is much improved as well... And things take teamwork, when before, it really didnt matter if you were alone or not. On Beach, you can only cap points when 2 people stay at specific areas for about 15 - 20 seconds. The maps are REALLY well done, and the remakes, are reworked very nicely. I cant say enough about this game, except I probably will be installing the server on Kerneldump when I get a free moment.

I played it more last night. It's definitely A LOT harder, but the graphics and everything that were updated are just amazing.

<< How do you guys play DoD well? I suck at it, I die constantly and I never even know where it's coming from. Kinda slow paced too ain't it? I'll try 2.0 out sometime... >>

this was true for 1.3, dunno about 2.0

i was about to pull way better ratio's with DoD than i was with CS, i can do like 20:1 on DoD and barely pull 2:1 on CS

if your aim sucks, just give up now and don't play it

it's all about reaction time and hand/eye coordination, see them first clickity click and they die

not some BS like in cs where you unload half a clip into somebody and they don't die

hide alot, camp alot, and you will do well =P

Yeah, and that rules. No more being owned as much by a camping sniper... when you right click to view, you now have to allow your eyes to adjust when looking through the scope. (dark at first then gets brighter within a few seconds) not that big of a change, but enough to make it so snipers cant right + click fire the second they see you... snipers (IRL) are traditionally ment to be campers, this almost forces them into that mode.

Played me some CS and DoD2 yesterday ;) Gotta love the best of both.

Was the machine gunner on DoD, got the bipod out and proceeded to wipe the floor with allies. I got a really good spot and they couldn't move until I was out of ammo (and no one dropped for me).

Then I played CS and proceeded to open the can-o-whoop ass on the servers, such a good time.

Played it some more, and im loving it. Some thoughts:

MGs are fun, and a great addition, but I swear, servers need to limit the numbers of them. Having more than 2 Mgunners makes the game a total camp fest, and thus, a waste of time. But for the love of god, why are machine guns the most accurate weapons when camped? Shouldnt it be the other way around?

They nerfed the snipers, and I'm all for that, but I swear there are times when Ive got the crosshairs on their faces and yet it still misses. And unless you shoot them in the head, its not a one shot kill.

The carbine is a great addition, and the german MG42 wipes the floor with the allies.

With the added recoil, its finally going to take a lot of skill to play. Although I think its a tad overdone and rewards camping a bit too much, it still doesnt let newbies get away with lucky shots. The garand is absolutely murderous once you learn to control the recoil.

Can't say I like a lot of the new maps, most of them are just camped out buildings.

And for the love of god, its damn near impossible to tell when youve killed someone. Before there was a huge blood spurt, and now you have to look at the corner of the screen. A sound acknowledging a kill would be more than helpful.

I guess it depends on the server youre playing on. If the admin is smart enough to limit classes properly, and not have the crappy maps, youll have a great time. Otherwise, youll be sitting there scratching your head as to why you cant get two steps ahead of your spawn cause of the damn machine guns.

Soooo hopefully in 2.1 we get:
Less accurate machine guns, or forced limits.
Slightly less recoil, rewards camping too much as it is.
Fix the snipers, theyre a bit TOO nerfed.

Other than that, its starting to grow on me. Its definitely a huge change from 1.3.
