Day of Defeat Source - what's the deal?

OK, I've never played DOD...heard plenty about though. It is my type of game.

My Steam update thing ( I have HL2 installed) alerted me to this. I declined the "pre download" b/c pre anything is BS.

Can someone shed some light on this?

LOL. pre-anything is BS except for pre-loading. :)

You download the majority of the game files, and pretty much just get the final executable and whatnot the day it comes out, so that you can have a minute or two download and start playing right away. May as well, all of Valve's crap takes forever to get released.

I think its next week, The 26TH? Not sure but you should pre download to prevent long download times on launch day. I'm going to start steam now that I've read this. Predownloadeding is a good thing. Dont wait till the last minute because its human nature to wait and the servers will be hammered.

bah steam servers are to busy to pre load please try again in a few hours ...

Slightly off topic but do you guys know if they are going to implement any kind of vehicles in this? I could have sworn I saw a screenshot of people firing from a Flying fortress somewhere.
