There's a new update going on with a new map (palermo) and added achievements much like in Team Fortress 2.

I used to be a big DoD fan before TF2 came out. If you're looking for more realistic classic combat, try this FPS out.

DoD: Source is fun, but it is realistic. It is still arcadey, even without the bunny hop.

If you want realism and WW2, checkout Red Orchestra.

Sweet! I've not yet played a Source game, but I used to play the originals...I'll have to give it a shot.

The 'freeze cam' is a terrible idea, though- castrates the Sniper class...

No it doesn't. A good sniper will move, not camp in one spot.

No it doesn't. A good sniper will move, not camp in one spot.

An even better sniper doesn't have to move. 🙂

Yes, but this gives people the free trial to the new version of DODS. Some like it while others hate it. Personally I think its much better 🙂

Compared to CS: Source, how many players and servers are there?

DoD source is pretty unrealistic as far as damage and speed is concerned. No bullet travel time, perfect accuracy from certain weapons, and instant death from certain weapons regardless of place hit. It doesn't mean its not a lot of fun, but its definitely far from a realistic shooter.
