Dawn of War II SP campaign - does it get any better?

I picked up DoW2 this week and as soon as I got started on the SP campaign I was hooked - it's really a blast. But the thing is, now I'm at about day 12 and it's getting pretty damn repetitive. The story is pretty lame so far and all of the missions are the same - either kill some boss or defend some building. The gameplay is still pretty fun but it's a bit of a grind now. Is it worth it to continue? I'm getting bored. Does the story pick up? Do the missions become more varied later one?

It's going to stay repetitive. You play the same maps over and over again but there are a few other maps that you'll encounter. Other than that, you can just drop it like its hot.

Much more fun with a friend. I enjoyed the SP campaign myself, but it has no replay value. The enjoyable aspects where the new bosses, new units to use, new equipment and stat points.

But I should have waited for it to drop $20 in price.

I am currently on my fourth play through of Dawn of War 2's Campaign (thats 3 more than Dawn of War)

They did an ok job of it. Replay value comes in the form of levelling your Marines differently, using them in different roles and using different leaders.

you get more equipment and some units later too, so its stays pretty fun. Co-op campaign is fun too.

The multiplayer however, is worthless. way too slow and dull. for multiplayer/skirmish, i'm sticking with DoW 1.
