Why the fuck do they bother asking for a birthdate?
How dumb are kids they cant figure out this mind-numbing puzzle?
Also, I'd like to say I really hate those annoying pop-open windows for images, they are becoming WAY too common on websites these days, and all they serve to do is slow downloads.
Having said all that, this looks like they pushed up the graphics and didnt worry a damn about the gameplay.
A console lovers wet dream. Hooray. I bet they charge 65 bucks for it.

What is this opinion based on?
Unlike the large number of know it all, knee jerk idiots who shoot their mouths, THQ and Relic understand that lawyers are prevalent in our society and so are laws designed too "protect" kids which they must adhere too.
As for the game play well unless you are part of their company or you are alpha/beta testing the game you have no clue how the game plays by just viewing that short trailer and looking at the few pics offered on the site.

Dawn of War 2 should woop Starcraft 2 in fun factor if relic don't go lazy on it :!
I honestly am looking forward to Dawn of War II more than Starcraft 2 at this point.
If you have been watching what has been happening with Blizzard, a lot of the people that made Starcraft and the Warcraft series in general are gone. If you look at a lot of the screenshots and read what is going on in their forums you will find the game "sounds" more or less like Starcraft 1.5 than Starcraft 2 in a sense.
That is a big assumption in my part but if you look at the game, it seems out dated for an up and coming new game. It looks like something that should have came out 2 years ago.

Looks generally improved overall... not sure if I approve of the way those Assault Marines look.. reminds me of that poor Transformers cartoon they recently released.
The age/DoB checker is a mere formality in an attempt to keep out those who are underage. It will cut out some but not all, of course kids have the sense to get around them but Relic/THQ couldnt do much more without making it too tight and people wont visit the site etc. Legally covers them to some degree.
If gameplay generally remains unchanged, I would be quite happy. I really enjoy the squad based mix with attachable commander-type units. The Capture the Points to increase resource income forces players to branch out quickly and discourages turtling.
I really hope that the Tyranids are not present in DoW2. I much preferred the game at the end of Winter Assualt when you had Chaos, IG, SM, Eldar and Orks. The additon of the Necrons, Tau, Dark Eldar and SoB have diminished the fun a little for me, Tyranids would just extend that.
One other thing I pray Relic change is the campaign. Apart from a couple of unique battles, the whole megamap thing was dull back when Westwood Studios done it for Emperor: Battle for Dune. I want a juicy campaign back with some good storyline behind it. DoW and WA were filled with both intrigue, mystery and surprises. DoW playing heavily on the suspicions of The Inquisition and the corruption of even The Emperors Greatest warriors.
Looks-wise, it is lining up great. Lovely little trailer although it stuttered for me oddly. I'll just have to watch it again... and again... and again...

From what I've read they will expand on the sqaudbased gameplay, where you can diversify more then in the current DoW. I'm with Elcs on the campaign, I really hope it's going to be something with a good story to it, instead of a world map where you play several 'skirmish' games. I think DoW 2 is more my thing then SC2, but I'll just have to play both and compare them. So far things are looking pretty nice.

as far as SC2 vs. DOW2 goes... i'm gonna give my vote to SC2 - there's a reason why i still rate SC higher than any other RTS i've played, and i'm hoping/expecting SC2 to continue in that line as far as (re)playability and accessibility go. DOW online is good, but it's too easy to screw yourself IMO. that, and DOW lacks custom maps.

I don't see how SC2 will destroy DoW2 at all. It's not like people are not going to buy the game because SC2 is out or people won't get both. DOW 2 will do well because it has a strong and loyal fan base that support the game and have supported it from day one.
Also there are tons of mods out for DoW along with custom maps and mod tools to make your own mods/maps. Relic has done a great job at supporting the community in it's map making and mod efforts with DoW. Anyone who is a fan would know this already.

Surpassed? No it's just as shallow as Warcraft is to Warhammer fantasy if not more so. Again how will SC2 prevent DoW 2 from being successful? DoW 2 has a strong following I doubt any people who liked the orginal games would suddenly not buy DoW 2 because SC 2 is out. SC2 will do more sales because rabid Korean SC fanbois won't play anything else but the rest of the RTS gaming world will more then likely pick up DoW 2 and that is more then enough to make it a success financially so that it spawns a expansion pack.

every time i've played DOW online there have only been a few hundred people in any single gate, at most.
custom maps are not prevalent in the same manner as warcraft/starcraft - at least not to my knowledge.
i'm not saying DOW won't do well. i enjoy it very much, it's easily the best RTS i've played *since* starcraft.

Whether it beats it in sales or not, I highly doubt SC2 will be anywhere near as good as DoW2.
Most of SC2's sales will come from those people that thought SC1 was great. Just look at C&C3, I bought it because Im a huge C&C fan and in my opinion it was a terrible game.
I was never a big fan of SC probably as I picked it up probably around 2002, along with Diablo1. I enjoyed it but I think the "magic" had wore off.
I will be picking up a copy of DoW2 and SC2 money willling when they are released. If I only had the money to buy one, it would go to DoW2.
You might be right, but honestly there's yet to be a blizzard game that wasn't at least decent.
Relic's been on a real kick with RTS games though for a while, they've been getting better and better every year.
Even still, # of people who played starcraft and thought it was great > number of people who have heard of 40K and are RTS gamers.
