lol.. I meant Godzilla himself looked horrible.
you should berate your animator friend.

the older godzillas looked much better

The new godzilla was pretty good and looked excellent. The older godzillas were guys in a suit, power rangers style.

Apparently the popular thing is to rip on the new Godzilla and say he looks like a teddy bear or some other inane retarded bullshit.

Going to see this either tonight or tomorrow. Nothing else worth watching comes out this weekend and I didn't get a chance to see this last week.

Saw this last weekend. I really liked this one and the previous one. I thought this was better than the first they did a few years back. Easily 8.5 or 9/10.

screw this new computer generated fake stuff

you can't get any more real than this :colbert:

godzilla is about a benevolent giant lizard that fixes broken cities and moonwalks into water. you've all been watching it backwards.

The CGI is great but the storytelling and dialog is weak like the 2 iterations prior. IMHO, the book is much better.

I liked the movie, even more than the first.

Didn't they completely change the story however?

I thought the virus was supposed to wipe out all humans except those who went to mars, and then years later, the humans returned to Earth.

There were humans on Earth in the very first movie. Hundreds of years had passed and they had no culture. They were subservient to apes.

I don't see how you can say this. It's one of only a select few modern movies where I don't constantly question the motivations of the characters.

I saw it last week and was really impressed, considering that I thought for sure it couldn't match up to the first.

That said, Kirk Acevedo is really annoying me every time I see him play "the asshole". Some might say "well, his character's job is to draw your ire - did he?", no, all I can see is some guy who keeps playing the same role with similar lines every time.

People have actually read Planet of the Apes books?

You're pulling my leg I'd hope like GOT thing, I had a friend even had the originals on 8MM in the 70's and we'd run it backwards for kicks.

Was funny watching the treed grow instead of blowing up, might have been some alcohol and things involved at the time.

You've gotta be shitting me a bit 🙂

Saw it yesterday. Had not seen any of the previous editions.

Found it pretty slow and dull. Most of the way-too-long movie was taken up by "Now, you just sit there and be awed by our masterful CGI" in battle scenes. Yeah, the CGI was well done. That's not enough.

Felt the same way about the Transformers movie. Just too much time spent on CGI battle scenes.

I'm no psychic but I thought the plot was pretty predictable once they showed
the Chief ape agreeing to let the humans go to the dam.

Did not really hold my interest. Should have gone to see Lucy.
