dawn of the dead was boring. I was thinkin' it would rank up with Resident Evil in terms of horror flick coolness...

Resident Evil sucked IMHO. And since when do movies in the Zombie/Horror category require an extensive plot?

Btw, note to self: Never give an old man a chainsaw.... No good can come from it...

I liked it, I thought it was a fun movie and enjoyed it. Man that red-headed chick really got on my nerves with how she risked everything just to save that stupid dog.

That fvcking rocked! I dislike how the beginning was more edge of your seats horror and then the movie progressed into a bloody action/comedy flick, but I liked the movie very much.

Since when can zombie run and bust through doors? When I first saw the preview, it reminded me of 28 Days Later, cause in that movie, the zombies were running full sprints and busting through windows and doors and stuff.

Inaccuracy of the movie. You'd think the zombies could have busted through the mall doors based off the attack by the husband.

Like somebody already mentioned, by making the zombies quicker and stronger, I think they were trying to put a fresh spin on an old story. I actually liked it that way, it makes the zombies seem more intimidating and freaky, not simply these sloth-like creatures that you could literally just walk away from.

The scene I liked best is when the girl escapes from her house and is about to get into her car but stops to look at all the mayhem going on in the neighborhood: cars overturned, houses on fire, zombies chasing humans around, etc.

They were shatter-proof, as told in the film.

Oh no I totally agree I was just making a point. If you recall when CJ threw the propane tank some zombie lifted it up and was about to throw it back. It seems as if the zombies are capable of at least semi rational thinking.

Yea that was a cool scene - it was cooler than hell when her husband veered off to go eat a neighbor, lol.

they never explained it in the film

Remember on TV where the minister/religious guy was talking about it? He said something like "Once the depths of hell fills up the dead shall rise again and roam the earth" - that's where the initial "flood" came from. They attack people, those people get mutated into the zombies, chain reaction, etc etc. I'm sure the original trilogy could explain it better than I can (I've never watched the original either)

I saw this at a free screening and enjoyed it. I wished they had explained how they got the first zombie. Virus? Toxic pollution? Are we suppose to accept the cop's explanation about Hell being overcrowded so the dead walks?

I'll take Dawn of the Dead over Resident Evil any day, that movie was a lot worse than Dead.

I liked it.
Look, it's a horror movie. I don't expect great acting, superior writing and dialogue, it's a horror movie.
I thought it was good for a horror movie.

what happens in the credits?

The survivors on the boat find another boat in the water with a zombie onboard.
They come to an island and the last thing you see is a lot of zombies coming out of the woods.

does that imply that the zombies learned how to drive boats

That's not entirely accurate. They find the zombie's head in an ice chest on the boat.
