It's an old I7-7700 refurb computer.

He pulled the GTX 1070 out of it and installed a RTX 3080ti in it, so that's on him.

Anything for video views of his channel I guess.

But a prebuilt PC from 2017? He's being pretty dumb for his YouTube channel, all for getting views (and his revenue share of that).

Anybody buying unique shaped / non-standard computer sizes should automatically realize most of the parts can't be easily upgraded.

Dell, HP, MSI, Lenovo, Acer.......they all do it. Buying any computer (desktop or laptop) has always been a caveat emptor situation to know exactly what they are buying.

Heck, many PCs advertised as "gaming" computers can't really game at all to begin with (GT 730 or GTX 1030) for example.

The system should have shut down cleanly, instead of blowing up the power supply. Putting a high wattage GPU in that system was a bad idea, but shame on MSI for putting a junk power supply with bad overdraw protection in it.

Yeah, that video card was never going to work with a 450W power supply. Still, it should have shut down cleanly instead of blowing up... unless it was tested at Gigabyte's QA department. Then it gets a pass
