Check out Sportscenter's Top 10 this morning. David Wright made a catch better than Derek Jeter's; he left his feet to leap into the stands to catch the ball iin foul territory. Looked pretty beat up too. Unbelievable.
 
That kid is a tremendous talent. This catch aside, he's not the best defensive third baseman in the game, but he can hit anyone anytime. He's young and exciting to watch. He's gonna be a Met for a long time.
 
Crazy play there by David. He's a great hitter who in time will get much better defensively. I was hearing some stuff on the radio about other third basemans in their full year of play like Rolen..etc and they all had lots of errors but matured as they got older. Wright will get better and will be the true face of the Mets (sorry Carlos...)

Wright is a great player. He's going to become an above average 3B, too. It's always fun to follow someone since he was drafted, come up through the minor league system, and then do well at the MLB level.

And best of all, he's a life long Mets fan!

heh.. the kid does get lots of marriage proposals though....<sigh>...oh to be young, good looking, rich (he's gonna be filthy rich one day) and a major leaguer... oh well.
 
That's an insane catch, literally insane to completely ignore the risks like that. However that's what makes a fielder GREAT (when he's healthy. 😉)

Beyond his prowess, I always thought a ball that is caught by a player totally in the stands, which he appeared to be, is a foul ball. I guess not?...
