I wonder if any votes would sway after 'TSN'. Well, I think it's decently likely that The Social Network and Inception will be competing for various oscars.

Yup Begins was infinitely better than Dark Knight but I do enjoy both directors. Se7en was a great movie but so was Memento but so was Fight Club. It's really hard to decide between the two.

I disagreem the second half of Begins is kind of a mess. The first half is awesome that it covers for the second half, but that entire last act was quitre poor.

Fight Club is a modern masterpiece. I think I was the only one in the theatre who immediately recognized the genius of it, it was marketed in trailers that really got the wrong idea across (it wasn't about fighting, or soap for that matter), and the film was a failure at the box office, earning only about a third of the production/marketing costs. I bet it's been paid back by now though with licensing, dvd, bluray, etc.
?? I had no idea this was the case, but IMDB confirms. It sucks when beautiful films lose money due to bad marketing, then bad movies make money due to good marketing. IMDB says Fight Club cost 63mil to make and it grossed 37mil (net loss). Horrible movies like Hostel cost 4.5mil to make but gross 47mil (very good ROI).

Fight Club came out when I was a kid and my friends seemed to think it was cool because it was about a club where people fight. I never saw that movie until much later, maybe 2006, and it's probably my #1 favorite movie of all time.

This has to be the toughest question I have ever faced.

I recently watched Nolan's Following, it was amazing.. at little under 70 mins, that movie was a showcase of Nolan's talent. The editing of this movie carried over to memento.

Batman Begins > Dark Knight, Insomnia was helped buy a great cast.. it was a good movie. Prestige was good too but probably Nolan's weakest.

Memento>Following>Batman Begins>Inception=Dark Knight>Insomnia>Prestige

I haven't seen all Fincher's movies..

Fight Club>Se7en=Zodiac>Benjamin Button..

Going to watch Social Network tomorrow....

Fincher may be inconsistent than Nolan, but a guy who made Fight club, Se7en and Zodiac is IMO a truly great director.

After much thought I gave them equal score.
