Sweet find for Man U or Real Madrid fans. I haven't been able to find this in the states for under $50 and they are offering it for $29 including postage. Guess it pays to deal directly with the UK!

ITEM 447

Bend it like Beckam. :D

Even if you're a soccer fan, why is this a hot deal? He looks like a girl in that drawing.

wow... how ethnocentric... you know there are other countries in the world.

But for the record, I think Michael Jordan is probably the most recognized athlete in the world. Too many endorsements.

But saying that Favre is the most famous is like Warren Sapp saying that the NFL Football is the most popular sport in the world. Maybe Fooball is, but not American Football.

For the record, Beckham is the highest paid athlete in the world, making over 60 million a year.

Agree. I don't think many people outside US would even know what American football is. No offense, no discrimination, but the truth.

I believe that honor would have to go to Michael Schumacher.

I know who Babe Ruth and Muhammed Ali are/were, however, never have heard about Brett Favre. (Yeah, might sound silly, but I am serious). Micheal -Air- Jordan should be one, Magic Johnson might be one (or not). Also, Ronaldo, Zidane, Tiger Woods, who else... That's pretty much all I can think of now.

Funny, the most famous Soccer player I can think of was Pele. I used to play it (soccer, not Pele) in grade school, but watching it? Blech. Watching it was like torture, almost as bad as watching golf or tennis...but granted with some chance of excitement.

But soccer never really made it big over here in the States, certainly not like baseball or even football has. At least we all have some sport to riot over, and can agree that overpaid players really put a hurt into ticket prices (those bastards).

Maybe if they shortened the field by half, added a few minefields, and made the ball explosive... (or am I thinking of an old arcade game? Hrm.)

Any sport that women play professionally is no longer a sport but has just turned into a game.... :D Egocentric maybe, but definately know the difference between a sport and a game. And while we are on the subject, yes Michael Jordan would one of the greats of all time.

I would have to say our Brett Favre is close to your Beckam (in fame only), excluding the mullet, and the queer factor.
