Just caught Dave on Dave tonight (thats Matthews and Letterman respectively.) He played a song from his new CD that is comming out Tuesday.

The guy has lost at least 50 pounds since he came to Columbus for a concert two years ago. He must not be hitting the pipe so much. Less smoke=less munchies after all.

Has anyone seen him in concert yet this summer? He hasn't been this skinny since Under the Table & Dreaming.

That's weird because it never appeared to me that Dave Matthews was overweight. Now that guy from Blues Traveller, he lost a lot.

Actually, it would make sense if he's stopped. He just had twins, and he has always made it very clear that he is a family man and wants the best for his wife and loved ones. If he felt that he could be a better father or rolemodel for his kids by not toking up, I'm sure he'd stop

Ozzy?? That bastard?? HAHAHAHA. Snoop is ok though...I don't mind his stuff even though I rather dislike rap. He's kinda mellow and is tunes are rather soulful IMHO.

oh just because you can't appreciate musical talent doesn't mean you have to whine that DMB isn't your cup of tea...

I have every single song ever made by the guy, and to be honest, there's only 1 or 2 that I don't like...

His music portrays real talent... the background music is amazing to listen to as it develops and keeps you interested... his voice is different, not the same old crap you hear all the time, and that sets his music out even further... his lyrics, well I don't understand, but I just like listening to his voice blend in with the background music and hear how well it all comes out...

I'm not a fanboy either... dmb is definitely better than country and of course better than most of the sh!t you hear on the radio (granted he's on it a lot, but it's a bit different from the norm)

Sorry he's been around for years and isn't going anywhere - something I wish had happened to most of the crap you old folk brought into this world!

I love the people that think hating DMB is "cool"

Their music rules, and they're very talented.

Get over it.

Who here has a Doctoral degree in music? yeah i didnt think so.....

how bout everyone just realizes they are not anybody special when it comes to music critizism. Its an opinion and everyone is entitled to there own.....just respect it.....if you dont like certain music it doesnt make it crap and it doesnt make the musician not talented.
I cannot stand country music however i cannot say its all crap and they are all no talent a$$ clowns, that would be completely rediculous. I am sure the individuals that make those osngs(even the worst ones) are more musically gifted then I or anyone of you are unless you are a musician yourself. THerefore you have absolutely no ground to stand when you say a musician or a type of music is crap. if you dont like it, change the station, dont buy there cd's, or goto there concerts or watch there music videos. Done and Done!

thanks for listening bye

Heck, I don't listen to DMB often, but from what I HAVE heard, I've noticed some actual, real music!

Yeh I can appreciate talent; he has a unique singing and lyric-writing style.

DMB is borrrrrrrrrrrrrring. I almost fell asleep operating an slitting machine while DMB was playing. Almost cut my hand off. After that, I just couldn't be bothered.

They haven't broken any ground that countless "jam" bands didn't break within the last 50 years.

Anyway, we've hashed out the "DMB is a crappy 'college band' "/"DMB is amazing" argument at least 10 times here, and no one's opinions are going to change, so we might as well not bother wasting any more time on it :)

You don't have to be a master of something to criticize it. Of course you don't.

And just because somebody has an opinion doesn't mean it's right. I'm sure people have accurately argued that yes in fact country music is musically inferior to other genres.

That's right. They're some true musicians. Dave on guitar and the drummer are fantastic! The sax-player and violinist are pretty good, but the bass player is so-so. All in all, they're a notch (or two) above most popular music groups today.

Actually, some of the noise the band makes is OK. But when that dude sings it sounds like Tom Petty battling throat cancer with a butt plug screwed in to tight.
