The band said it had contacted the boat owner and tour operator to try to identify the affected passengers. The band also said it has suspended the driver and donating $50,000 to the Chicago Park District and a nonprofit group that protects the Chicago River.

Don't Drink the Water Lyrics

Come out come out
No use in hiding
Come now come now
Can you not see?
There's no place here
What were you expecting
Not room for both
Just room for me
So you will lay your arms down
Yes I will call this home
Away away
You have been banished
Your land is gone
And given me
And here I will spread my wings
Yes I will call this home
What's this you say
You feel a right to remain
Then stay and I will bury you
What's that you say
Your father's spirit still lives in this place
I will silence you
Here's the hitch
Your horse is leaving
Don't miss your boat
It's leaving now
And as you go I will spread my wings
Yes I will call this home
I have no time to justify to you
Fool you're blind, move aside for me
All I can say to you my new neighbor
Is you must move on or I will bury you
Now as I rest my feet by this fire
Those hands once warmed here
I have retired them
I can breathe my own air
I can sleep more soundly
Upon these poor souls
I'll build heaven and call it home
'Cause you're all dead now
I live with my justice
I live with my greedy need
I live with no mercy
I live with my frenzied feeding
I live with my hatred
I live with my jealousy
I live with the notion
That I don't need anyone but me
Don't drink the water
Don't drink the water
There's blood in the water
Don't drink the water

They could help me out by all killing themselves.

Riiiiiiiight:roll:

Yes, I am a loser for having an opinion! How dare I not conform and embrace Dave!

Saying Dave sucks is fine. Red does it all the time and we always go back and forth. But telling them to go kill themselves? Yeah, riiiight.

I don't see you preaching to those who want Nickleback or when they still were around, Creed dead.

You're being inconsistent. Don't think so?

I don't think that they get nearly as much flack as DMB. That being said, DMB is my favorite band so I take it personal ;)

There's a difference btw:

(1) They should kill themselves
(2) They should apologize for their crappy music

Don't ya think? ;)

Dave Mathew's Band is some overplayed cliche hacks. The only reason, I think, people like Dave Matthew's is because they have a friend that likes them. And that friend has a friend that likes them. I really am not sure if any one person really likes them.

I don't find the band to be as creative as people think, and his singing style is annoying. No, it is not 'cool' or 'different' or 'unique,' he can't sing well.

Great how the Band wants to make amends only because they got caught. I think we all know that they wouldn't offer anything if it didn't get documented.

Can I be versatile and say they should do both? :p

Different people have different tastes. That's for sure. I can't stand country, but I don't go around saying that Tim McGraw should go shoot himself for making a song with Nelly.

That being said, Red must have a DMB alarm b/c he posts to just about every DMB thread :)

You are right, of course, to a degree. I don't like country music at all, but there are some country music performers whom I feel are very good musicians. I do not like Barry Manillow, but I think he is a very good musician; just isn't my thing. I don't like Shania Twain, but I think she is a good performer; not my thing.

I just feel that DMB is just not a very good band. Sure, they are not necessarily a very bad band, I just don't think they are that good either.

I know you expect me to say something every time you post about DMB so I don't want to disappoint you. Obviously you were ready for it by that PIC you linked:)

Actually, the pic was of Calvin pissing on Atkins, but I had to do a quick PS job on it ;)

Isn't/wasn't Vic Wooten in DMB? I have a video of him doing a bass solo at a DMB concert, and I didn't know if he was a band member or a special guest. If he's a member, then no one is allowed to say DMB is talentless. Wooten is the best bassist ever.

Wooten is the bassist for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Bela Fleck has guested on one of their albums, Before These Crowded Streets. Having said that, I think DMB is extremely talented and they make fantastic music. It seems like its becoming cool to hate DMB now because they've gotten very popular.

Not only that, they're extremely liberal. Much to my ire, I might add - I love their music but I'm very firmly a conservative. Then even vocally support the legalization of hemp, something that's so extremely liberal that it draws flack from the moderates.

Some of their new stuff is meh, but nothing beats their oldies - and their live albums are ten times better than their studio stuff. Live at Red Rocks 8.15.95 is one of the best live albums I've heard from any band, ever.

Plus, even if you hate Dave, you've got to give him props for supporting fans trading bootleg recordings of their concerts. BMG would've stopped it years ago if Dave didn't keep them from it. bt.etree.org is a good place to look for them.

I get chills listening to "Seek Up" from that album:Q Pure musical and lyrical bliss. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for Dreaming Tree. Lyrically complex and heavy on the instruments...still one of my favorite songs ever.
