Ok, no offense but DMB certainly does not rock.
Examples of bands that "rock:
Metallica (pre-Black album)
Rolling Stones
Led Zepplin (well, rocked anyway)
AC/DC
DMB is borderline adult contemporary IMO.

hmm what I like about DMB is that they have their own "style" of music..
its not jazz its not pop its not rock, its DMB style...

Hence, they do not "rock".
Personally I can't stand DMB nor that John Meyers (or whatever the hell he's called).

you mentioned a dave matthews solo song amongst dave matthews band songs.
fav. solo songs: gravedigger, dodo, some devil, stay or leave, an' another thing
fav. band songs: bartender [live especially], crush, crash into me, spoon, don't drink the water, best of what's around, #41, drive in drive out, grey street, where are you going, dreams of our fathers, the space between, when the world ends [when it's performed live], so much to say, too much, tripping billies, what would you say, ants marching, satellite.

because it sucked. the mixing was way too compressed, no dynamics stood out, for the most part dave's voice was lost in the mix, none of the individual instrumentation stood out, and apart from that the album just sucked. steve lillywhite needs to do more work with them...

he also co-wrote the album with dave, without the band! so really everyday is the first solo record, with the old band doing some back-up band work for him. and considering dave is the weakest member of the band, it's no surprise that everyday is not just the weakest DMB album, but a weak album period.
