probable a repost, but Clear Channel Communications sent out a list of dozens of songs with "questionable content" regarding the recent events in NYC and DC. Amongst the list are some really obvious ones, but some, like a DMB love song, with nothing to do with terrorism being banned simply for its title ? pretty lame IMO

other songs nixed

yes it is a repost but i think that it is so stupid that it DESERVES to be posted again. Some of those songs are no where near offensive. And i believe it was brought up in the other thread that people have control of the radio, it can be turned off!

stairway to heaven, what a wonderful world, another one bites the dust, etc etc

this is why clear channel sucks (in addition to making radio across the united states sound exactly the same... eventually you'll go to any city in america and if you want rock you turn to 96.5. you want country you turn to 97.7 etc etc)

All Rage Against the Machine Songs, LOL
I can imagine some exec sitting down w/the play list,
Okay,
No,
No,
No,
Fvck No,
Okay,
No,
No,
Oh, what the hell, No, No, No, No, No, No, No,
No... never liked that band anyway....
Oh, to hell w/it, I'll just ban all the odd numbered songs on the list.

Clear Channel has denied the list....there are 5 Clear Channel stations in my area....Dallas-Ft Worth....and I have heard several of the songs still playing. One of the stations, The Edge 102.1-Alternative, even talked about the rumor this morning during the morning show. Even they denied the list. This is how bad rumors get started.......There was a story about it at Wired.com yesterday where Clear Channel denied the rumor with them also....I couldn't find the link.

Yeah, I don't think the accuracy of the song list is right. I just heard the obla di obla da song on the radio.... And not to mention, the list is songs with questionable content, not banned songs...

Yeah really. One could think that song would bring some relief at times like this - knowing the world afterall is wonderfull place, but sadly in every place there has to be few bad apples...

They didnt seem to think so. That's just... hmm... stupid 🙂

That song rocks.

People still listen to the FM radio? heh.. Good one. 🙂

Just remember, almost any comment or statement can be taken out of context. Banning DMB is lame, sounds like the work of Communist....
