The driver, Stefan Wohl, was sentenced to 18 months probation, 150 hours of community service and the maximum $10,000 fine, which will be paid to Friends of the Chicago River, said Tom Stanton, a spokesman for the Cook County State's Attorney's office.

hey, I never caught it...it's crossed my mind...I was humming "Tripping Billies" and kept replacing the lyrics with "Pooping Buses".....

"'Cause we were Pooping Buses..."

actually, it was the violinist's bus. dave matthews himself wasn't on it.

and the links fobot gave are accurate. 😛

this is SO 2004... why can't i be enlightened with news that i haven't heard about lately?

The story has come up because dave mathews is coming to Chicago for the first time after that incident.

That must've been horrible for those people on the boat.

I remember years ago beating a squall line back to the dock and this most unfortunate person was right behind me with his son. Something fell out of the sky with so much force it broke his shoulder. Then there was a horrible smell. Turns out a waterspout came ashore and had enough force before it receded to lift a port-a-pot from a nearby construction site and carry it nearly one mile. Talk about a shitty situation AND being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
