I say congrats to the guy. I have never seen him give an unfair review to an Nvidia or ATI product. The guy would be a treasure for ATI or NVidia and he gets to have a dream job instead of running a fairly small but respected website.

Not always he hasn't. You need to carefully read what he posts in the forums to see his ATi bias, he hides it well in reviews. Nonetheless he should be much happier at ATi, and maybe, just maybe, he will drag their marketing out of the sewer.

Wavey was one of the first to point out the weaknesses of the GeforceFX series and a lot of people resent him for that, but anyone on an even keel can see where the bias is in that.

No, you f**kwitted fanatic, I was banned for challenging Daves assertions on the DX9 specification, shader replacement and partial precsion and being right every single time.

You can check in the forums for yourself.

Baumann's problem was that he took the word of ATi engineers as gospel on all things technical, which left him blind to the truth about nvidia.

As for why he would have chosen ATi over nvidia if both offered work, he started out as a 3dfx fan and like most of them hates nvidia for "destroying" them. Like most ex-3dfx'ers he'll support anyone in the industry EXCEPT nvidia.

I've already said once in this thread (and prior to this in other threads) that Baumann is very careful not to let his bias show in reviews. And it would have been extremely difficult indeed for him to pan NV40 however much he may have liked to...

You might like to look at some nv40 threads just before release, where he was trying to downplay people predicting massive nv40 performance, me included. Like I say, the Baumann you see in the forums is a very different Baumann to the reviewer/site manager, especially where discussion about nvidia is concerned...

I did notice in Wavey's announcement that he says "approaches from the IHVs for a job position" --note the plural. Now, I suppose he could have meant S3, but I suspect he didn't --so it seems likely the green team put their bid in as well.
