Daunte Culpeper takes back necklace from paralyzed player

He was probably just playing around. I don't think he ever said "here, you can keep these."

What's the big deal? You really expect him to give him $75,000 worth of personalized necklaces?

I'd expect him to either give them to the kid with real intention or just chuckle at the kid's request and move on. He obviously just "gave" them to the kid to look good. He probably figured he could get them back and the media would only remember his "act of generosity".

I think it was an awkward gesture, but Daunte shouldn't be chastized. This paralyzed player was obviously someone who admired the nice jewelry and would like to wear that type of stuff around, rather than being someone who doesn't know a thing about it and wouldn't consider how valuable it was. The kid asked "Can I wear some of that ice?", Player lets the guy try the ice on, player then gets it back and sends the guy some cool memorobilia. Where's the harm?
I'm glad the kid is getting something in the end, and was able to meet a great football player after being hurt so badly playing football.

Well, I dunno, I don't think anyone committed a huge crime here. It's just an awkward situation. However, I do think that society puts way too much value in sports figures and find the amounts of money they are paid disturbing. A guy wearing a $75,000 necklace is kinda weird in my book.

well it's awkward, but i don't think he did anything wrong except not letting the kid knwo he wasn't really giving it to him

Another Rich SOB and the apologists in here for him are hysterical.

I'm sure he's rich enough to disregard the monetary value of the necklaces. He let the kid play with his stuff, and now he wants it back, what's the big deal?
