Heh. Yeah, one of the links on the Wikipedia page was about the wheels and the first thing I saw on the page was that they shit and run and that the shit is very hard to clean off.

Haha, this is true. My roommate just puts it in the shower and runs hot water on it for 30-40 minutes and it cleans it up. (We don't pay utilities :D )

hedgehogs rock.

My brother had one years ago in college. They would put him on an oval-shaped area rug, with a concentric design. The little ah heck would pic a lane on the rug, and just dash around in circles until someone stopped him.

How hard is it to take care of a rabbit?

They are very easy to take care of, plus they are cuter and it's easy to train them to use a litter box, so no mess.

I had a hedgehog for a couple years (it was a rescue hedgehog and its age was unknown, so it likely died of old age). The previous comments on their poop are correct, its gross and smelly. But that is true of many pets. One of the most important things to do is learn how to hold it, as it does take some practice and confidence to hold a very spikey creature without hurting yourself. And the worst thing you can do is not handle it, as it will likely become anti-social and just hide most of the time.
It is an enjoyable pet though, they are really cute and once you learn how to hold them "cuddly" as well. Their underbellies are actually quite soft if you can coax it to uncurl itself.

I wouldn't recommend it as a first pet, but if you are willing to put in the time to keep it clean and cared for, it should be a very rewarding pet to have

Ohio has some of the most lax pet laws in the country. Someone in the news the other day got mauled by their pet BEAR.

Police investigating determined that the cause of the bear attack was IT'S A F*****N BEAR!!!
