Like the title states..
We wanna give the little devil a handheld gaming console for christmas, but are in doubt in relation to wich one!
Now the psp is coolest, at least i think so ... but will a 5 year old too ? Perhaps something like the gameboy and the selection of games is more her target group ?
if going for the psp theres all the versioning, dowgrading firmware and ****** to take into account as well...
If there was really good games for a 5yo on the psp .. 😉

Thoughts on the topic ?

5 yrs. is a tad young for a handheld. Lean over here so I can smack ya! Try something new like childhood classic stories, building sets or art supplies.

No 5yo kid needs a PSP. I don't know that any handheld is truly appropriate for a kid that age... but that's just me.

btw... WWYBYWB?

Hey noob black man avatar, how about some jigsaw puzzles for your daughter? She's 5 and will wind up trashing either one of those handhelds at her age anyway.

ETA - Age appropriate jigsaw puzzles mind ya. 😉

lotsa dolls allready, besides another doll is not going to train that hand/eye/virtual/3d/math skills/coordination essential for anyone thriving for world domination. A gaming console provides a good workout for alot of the cognitive skills, so dont gimme dolls .... mkaythx ?

Seriously, WWYBYWB?

I bought my daughter the DS. She's 3. She loves Nintendog and that doodle program. I bought the DS for my wife but my daughter loved it so much that I bought her own.

My daughter doesn't care for my PSP. It's a good thing because she would break it in less than a day.

Ok, then a puzzle.

So ... like, how many of you got kids(and live with them!)? And those of you who dont, i very much appreciate your moral and ethical contributions to the topic at hand!! really i do ... no ******... no kidding.. i do... omfgffs

all i can say is, enjoy smacking them around in tekken while you can ... it aint going to last!
AND .. everything in sane portions .. will most likely not kill you or set the envoriment on fire!

Forget the handheld, when I was 5, I actually played outside, or played with toys, not sit in front of the tv all day. Get her a some childrens books to read, coloring books, arts+crafts type stuff etc.

the idea of breaking or throwing away a psp ... painfull indeed ... perhaps we should settle on something less advanced!

and you guys just dont get it .. kids today .. they're fcking born digital man .. my kid played her first computer game around her 3'rd birthday .. and no, we're not freaks ... well not on that account... its just the way it is for most kids today.
(of course my daughter is exceptionally bright, but still)
