Dating a co-worker different than HS dating?

I have see several of these treads about how bad it is to date a co-worker, and I did not really want to hijack one of those threads (even though the thought came aross my mind), but how is that any worse than dating someone in HS. If you break up your still going to see them every day.

Yeah but at work you could have no choice about whether or not you interact with that person. And if you call her/him a poopface, that might not go over too well with the boss. Dang, am I thinking of elementary school?

Yah, but there are some cases where you have to deal with people in High School, plus aren't people susposed to be more mature once they are out of HS.

you're joking, right? Maturity is something that young people think older people have. People play the same high school games - like cliques and fitting in and all that BS, just at a much higher level. Think HS basketball vs. NBA. The game is perfected and honed after many years of it.

Try dating HS people at work.

Well you're both supposed to be more mature and handle it better than a crappy HS relationship, especially the breakup. You dating them is fine, as long as you can both be mature about it if you break up

if your a 40 year old man, then dating someone in HS can definitely be worse (jailtime) than dating a co-worker.

if your in a prison making license plates, then "dating a co-worker" could have it's own unique problems....

all in all, the answer to your question depends entirely on the circumstances..

I can't imagine dating a coworker since my only coworker is my manager/boss who's a dude, and I can't imagine my gf working at my job. Even if I worked elsewhere and I had a gf at the workplace, I'd imagine it to be slightly awkward and it could be potentially disastrous. I wouldn't feel too comfortable. Plus - you need SOME time away from the person. Jeez, if you work with them and live with them, when will you breathe?
