ive got a good friend who doesn't really date much... he went on a date tonight... and apparently it went well. he was supposed to go out of town tommorow (and told her so..) and she mentioned she had nothing to do.. etc..

his out of town junk got canceled.. he wants to ask her out for lunch/dinner or something

I told him it's too early... what do you think?

UPDATE:
ok they.. went out today. went to eat, then to see a movie.. then her place. no kissing.. just holding hands and junk

BUT she was/is supposed to hang out w/ some guy tonight... so... competition? hoe?

When she mentioned she had nothing to do she was hinting that she wanted to go with him and screw him silly. What a retard! :disgust:

From MY experience when you show too much interest girls get turned off by it... girls want what they can't have..

If all went really well, then 1 day is okay. However, he better be damn sure of himself that the date went really well.

Standardly, I would say two - three days, but it's judged on a case-by-case basis. I don't care if your friend hasn't gone on much dates, he should be able to discern whether or not he should approach her now or any other time. If he couldn't do that, then I suspect that he's wrong about how well the date went.

Maybe you can give some help to armatron, who is also an expert.

I would have said wait a couple of days if she didn't mention she has nothing to do. Given that the date went really well, go for it.

and yeah, call her voice mail and leave super-long messages until the machine cuts you off. ;)

If his thing got canceled, I would just play it cool. If he calls her too soon, he might 1) end up going on a bad date, 2) seem too needy, 3) look like an asshole because she may already have plans (even if she says she doesn't).

Definitely not too soon, the only time frame that is bad is waiting. Let them know you're interested, but don't do too many dates in a row and let them think you need them, make them realize they need you.

agree'd. however, i do have to agree that she wants to see him again, and he should call her to ask her out again. however, he doesnt want to call to much as he might seem over bearing

If a girl is truly interested, it doesn't matter how soon he calls (though he better call). She'd be thrilled to hear from him.
