Datacolor Spyder3

Does anybody know Spyder3Elite 3.1.4 will require a re-calibration when video drivers are updated?

When I switched video cards, it did require a recalibration, but what about just the drivers? I'm having some minor unrelated issues that I would like try and solve with new drivers, but I don't currently have access to the Spyder3 hardware.

I would think it should still use the old profile.

but...LCDs drift, color wise, and usually pretty quickly. Most color critical workflows calibrate every week or every two weeks.

if it's been months since you calibrated, the profile likely isn't that close anyway.

I calibrated the monitors the other month, and they're past being new so I'm not too worried about them drifting.

You never know, it might be pretty close. But in my experience they don't *stop* drifting....just slow down. My secondary display is nearly 3 years old, and I still see slight shifts calibrating once a month (main display gets every two weeks).

An ad agency I worked with once calibrated once a week, and most of their LCDs were 18 month old high end ezios at the time. Their tech person told me they had some bad luck trying to do every two weeks. But of course that's an environment that's about as color critical as it gets
