I am looking for a program that will allow me to audit users on my network here at work. What we are going to be doing is reciving databases and other documents from our clients which will have to be secured. Is there a program out there that will allow this? I know Microsoft VisualSourceSafe will do it, but along with securing data, I need to have it keep log files that consist of telling me when a user reads or changes a document. Also it has to have security so that I can specify who can use it and when and what they can get to and their acess level. Can SourceSafe do all of this??? if so then I don't need any other software, but if not can someone tell me if there is anything that can.
 
Visual Sourcesafe is what our developers use to keep track of our source code. This stops two different developers from checking out same code at once. You need a packet sniffer to audit network usage.
