A few days ago my wife randomly lost all of her contacts and text messages. The text messages are very important to her as she had saved all of the messages from her mon and her best friend who passed recently.

I asked her if she could just restore from google and apparently she has never backed up.

Anyways. I was thinking of paying for https://www.imobie.com/droidkit/? and trying to get her stuff back. Does anyone have experience with this?
 
Well, it depends on what actually happened. Both are stored locally in different folders. Before spending money on something download CX Explorer and browse to the folders to see if they're empty or not. It might just be a glitch in the vendor UI or it's possible an update wiped them. I've never seen it happen though in the years I've been using Android.
