Data Recovery

If you try to search for "Data Recovery" on Google then it will give so many results but most of the softwares don't allow you to recover files without purchasing them .This does not allow to check the efficiency of the software . Most of the times they recover corrupted images , files and folders with their security descriptors ripped.
What do you recommend to recover data from lost volumes or hard drives with corruption up to some extent.
The reason for stressing on security descriptors is that i work on lots of domain controllers and they contain folders for the users logging on.

I have another situation specific query :

Lets say i come across a drive for which i have recovered the data using a data recovery software. I have three folders on the drive.

abc , pqr and xyz.

abc , pqr and xyz being the names of user accounts in the domain (Single domain controller in the Environnment)

Now i wish to make a script that will read the name of the folder and give full rights to the user to whom this folder belongs , the system account and the domain administrator account. If there's a confusion in the scenario then feel free to ask me.

Has anyone encountered such a problem before , if yes then what did you do to solve the problem?

Has anybody got such a script??

The GetDataBack application by http://www.runtime.org/ allows free evaluation through manual recovery of each individual file. It may be useful to try this program and see if it fits your needs.
