I was doing a routine copy of some data files from one hard drive to another (both dedicated data drives, no OS) It was quite a bit of data so I let the machine run. When I came back, a message box showed that the drive I was copying TO was corrupted. I could not get the drive contents to appear so I rebooted. After the reboot, it shows up as unformatted:Q

I am running XP Pro SP1 with up to date Virus software. How can I retrieve the data?

Please help:(

Yikes!

I downloaded the r-studio demo and it identified thousands of files......so the chances of recovery are what if I drop $80 on the full product?

Thanks.

Not sure what your chances are, but as long as you haven't overwritten anything I would assume it would be pretty good at getting your data back.

Cool....I understand there are no guarantees with this kinda stuff......

The software shows a "partition" roughly the size that the data was and the rest is blank....

I haven't overwritten anything....scanned it is all, so hopefully it's not too messed up....

Wish me luck!

I had reco'd R-Studio a couple years back here. It worked GREAT for me. Had a RAID 5 array where the Allocation table was hosed (yeah on my Human resources server-don't ask). Got EVERYTHING back I needed for a measly $125 :)
