I work for medical device manufacturer, and we just found out that our company has been sold!🙁 We found out via internet news releases, not from within.:|

Anyway, don't know many details at this point. Nothing like worrying about whether or not you have a job less than 48 hours before leaving on a 10 day vacation.🙁
 
Yep sucks, but that is business today. Employees are not going to have any control over it (nor should they). BTW, I have been downsized before, 3 weeks before my wedding ,and that was NOT pleasant. So I know how you feel.
 
BIG UPDATE. After the employee meeting we were told that we have not been officially sold but have signed an official agreement to sell. The sale might not be complete for another 3 months.


Well that is a relief. 3 months to get a resume ready. On the other hand, the company buying us is a holding company with 10 employees. They plan on keeping the manufacturing (my company) where it is.

Yaay! At least I don't have to worry over my vacation 🙂
 
Congrats Sundog.... at least for a while. Sounds like you had some tense moments today.


Well anyways, enjoy your vacation and be happy that you dont have to worry about your job
