Well boys and girls...BBR just had a new member join with 23k WU's....lead back in the low 30's again! 🙁

We'll need to pour it on and keep it on if we are to finish ahead of them....assuming that they don't gain any new membership between now and then! *sigh*
 
Thta's not good....left my home PC on today doing little more than crunching....my work PC is always crunching.

well I got 8 a day to add if I can get to where I can afford a new power supply for the one that I smoked Saturday. (should be able to order one friday{payday})

I've sold a few of those PC's since then (haven't updated photos), but I added an XP1900 and an XP2400 to the rack. Also added a 3.2GHz P4 800MHz FSB Dell to the mix too! 😀

Damn,thats cutting it very close to us🙁 ,what didn't help is that I....... no SETIQ deleted 23 results I was trying to transfer from 1 Q to another🙁:|.I moved (should of copied!) some results off my USB drv to an unintiated Q ,when I fired it up it wiped the WUs🙁.I won't make that mistake twice!.I'm gonna copy the work Q on Friday ,then flush that Q to my home 1(yes you can run 2 Qs at once🙂)

Anyway from this week on ,my work mini fleet is going 24/7🙂
I'll get my 2nd rig crunching some more ,I can't do 24/7 on it though ,atm its too noisey.

Hmmmm - well since the university will be footing the bill I should start buying some more rigs 😀

I read the post about the new member, he's claiming he'll be able to ramp up production to nearly 11,000WUs/day :Q! C'mon TeAm!
 
I ve got a xp 1700 sitting idle with a bad bios 🙁

anyne got a spare bios for a soyo k7v dragon pro ?

as soon as i get it fixed it will rejoin the herd.

a high end P4 puts out what...50 WUs/day? 11000!!! that = 220 high end P4 systems....Engineer your going to:
A) go broke from buying all these new pcs
B) going to have to somehow connect yourself directly to the power plant
C) install a small thermonuclear generator in case of an outtage
D) be very very poor 😉

lol, but anyways. Figure( if my calculations are correct) team anandtech needs another 300-400 users? (not everyone runs the high end hardware)....

A high end p4 might do 12 wu's a day. My 2700 xp averages 2 1/2 hours per work unit but it is also doing other things as well
 
12WUs/day? i could swear it was at least like 25+ w/ hyperthreading enabled..hmm..now that i smack myself out of my lethargy:

(24hrs/day)/(2hrs/1 WU) = 12 Wus/day which equates into ~916 high end P4s running 24/7 which = :Q

apologies all around...i had 6 classes today :frown:
