Dashcam + battery drain ('parking mode') questions

Also to clarify - the reason it draws power when car is off is because it is hardwired to the fuse box on a fuse that works when car is off (e.g. emergency lights).

If you're going to wire up a cam like that, you're going to want a solar panel for the car or some way to keep the battery charged.

Yup, for that reason I have disabled the parking mode feature even though it is a nice to have... *knock on wood* I will not regret it but even then, it only records from the front anyway.

I will allow the battery to charge over the next week or two and hope the short distances grants enough of a charge. Right now turning the wheel or braking slightly dims the headlights.

My friend says this is because of the electrical steering putting a load on the electrical system but the braking thing is new to him.
