searched for "das" and "blank keyboard" and found nothing.

a friend pointed this out to me a couple weeks ago. Thought it was a joke but he actually ordered one. sounds interesting, I think it would look cool and freak some people out.

I believe it is because each key is individually weighted.

here's the google cache

link borked...and what would each key being weighted do?

I can't get that link to work...just google "das keyboard" and use the cache.

weighted keys give a certain feel, which helps you use the keyboard without the letters.

so what is the point of having no letters etc on the keys.. is so that you can make up your own symbols like some wacky chinese or summin and then draw it on there, or is it so that geeks can write there 1337 geek sh1t on there 😛

They claim it makes you type faster since you don't have the letters on the keys as a crutch. You must touch-type since it's the only option. I suppose this works for some, but I have touch-typed for years...I never look at the keyboard anymore unless I accidentally stick my hands on the wrong keys.

i can semi touch type .. i find that you just remember combinations on the keyboard, although i do not use the home keys do you?

I use the home keys, although I usually have my middle fingers hanging out over e and i. I wouldn't be able to touch-type without some form of "home row" even if it's not the conventional asdfjkl; one, as I need to know where my fingers currently are to know where all the other keys are in relationship to them. If I accidentally put my hands in the wrong spot, "have a nice day" becomes "yqf3 q h8d3 eq7"!

Yeah I don't quite get the benefit either...I almost never look at the keyboard when I type unless I'm using the number pad or directional keys. Maybe the weighted keys would feel good, but for $80 I'd rather have a nice wireless keyboard.
